Job Title: HR Manager Maternity Cover


Initial contract: 12 months

Start Date: As soon as possible

Salary: £41,000

Hours: 37.5 hours (Hybrid working up to 2 days) ** Could also be considered as a 4 day working week

HR Manager Maternity Cover (12 months)

Role Purpose:

To contribute to our mission by overseeing all aspects of day-to-day HR function to support employees in delivering Options strategic aims and objectives and to deliver expert HR advice. The Maternity cover post will help in contributing and embedding the development plan in all expect of the HR and recruitment Strategy.

4 – HR Specialist, Onboarding and Retention Specialist, Recruitment Coordinator and Recruitment Assistant.


Job Description

Main Responsibilities

General

To lead the current HR and Recruitment team to deliver the key aspects of the HR strategy within the development plan ensuring that the key milestones are met

To oversee changes to employment legislation and ensure that Options policies and procedures are up to date.

Oversee and manage Employee Relation casework coaching managers of best practice and the management of risk up to and inclusive of dismissal.

Supporting the HR Specialist with the day-to-day management of case work

Support the professional development of all members of the HR and recruitment team.

Support the roll out of our community – based recruitment proposals, providing guidance and advice to the team in recruitment.

Oversee the work of the Retention specialist in reducing staff turnover- including the building of business cases for staff retention initiatives including reviewing health and wellbeing initiatives.

Work closely with the Training Manager to create pathway into employment into social care and to aid retention.

Oversee the organisations recruitment processes supporting the recruitment team to recruit future talent, ensuring that safe employment practices are adopted and provide a swift recruitment pipeline through all available recruitment channels.

Ensuring that applicants are promptly and fairly processed in line with our recruitment and Equal Opportunities policy.

To ensure that prospective employees complete all pre-employment checks relevant to role and ensure records are maintained compliant with GDPR legislation. Carry out random audit checks in collaboration to spot check compliance.

Oversee all recruitment campaigns and advertising to ensure its effectiveness and overseeing the budget allocation.

Evolve indicators and reporting mechanisms to the leadership team, providing comprehensive monthly reports and data to inform the rest of the senior leadership team and board of Trustees.

Liaise directly with the finance / payroll team on any payment issues, oversee that any routine information is accurately passed by the HR team and in a timely manner.

Support with change management and providing key HR advice and support for contract reviews and implementation

Keep all staff, and especially Senior Leadership, up to date with any HR developments as appropriate.

Participate in external networks to develop our reputation and standing in social care locally and nationally

Where appropriate, to undertake training conducive to personal development.

To undertake any other reasonable duties pertaining to this post, which may, from time to time, be specified by the Chief Executive.

Current project work

Monitoring the Governments implementation of Fair Pay Agreement and Employment Rights Bill – providing advice to the Leadership team

Support the work of the EDI task group and progress roll-out of the equality and diversity programme

Support the roll-out of electronic payroll and timesheet project working with the payroll team for better integration

Continue to build consistency in the use of our electronic HR system

Support team leader development and the roll out of the competency framework

Person Specification

Qualifications/experience/ knowledge/ skills

Essential

Level 5 in Human Resources or equivalent experience and committed to working towards a professional qualification

Demonstrable professional development

Demonstrable experience in a generalist HR setting managing a HR team/service

Significant proven knowledge of employment law and its application

Experience of providing professional advice supporting Senior/Managers

Essential IT skills

Ability to write and prepare comprehensive reports

Ability to lead, manage and oversee a team


Desirable

MCIPD (level 7)

Leadership qualification

Experience gained in Health and social care

Knowledge of charity settings

Experience in transformational change projects
